YAZD -- 3,264 tons of non-oil goods have been exported from Yazd, central Iran, over the past three months (March 21-June 21), head of Yazd's Customs Office said.

Foroud Asgari told IRNA on Saturday that the goods exported were valued at Rls.40,668 billion and $5,132 million .

The exported goods included unprocessed calico, pistachio, pistachio kernel, scarf, molybdenum oxide, ferromolybdenum, carpet, fitted carpet, chinaware and black tea.

The goods were exported to Germany, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

"The exports in the said period showed a seven percent boost in value and a 34 percent decrease in weight compared to the same period the previous year," Asgari said.

He added that 1,890 tons of industrial goods, 318 tons of mineral products and 10 tons of carpet and handicraft have also been exported over the same time.

Also 2,182 tons of non-oil goods were imported to Yazd over the same period worth Rls.115,547 billion.

"The imports in the period showed a 73 percent rise in value compared to the figure for the correspondent period the previous year," said the official.
